To facilitate all customs formalities, San Salvador is an official Bahamas Port of Entry. World renowned as the first landing point for Columbus in the New World on October 12, 1492, and hence sometimes still referred to as Columbus Isle, San Salvador is just 12 miles long by 5 miles wide, the exposed peak of a submerged mountain plunging 15,000 feet to the sea floor. Rimmed by a combination of scenic rocky shoreline and powdery white sand beaches, San Salvador is a water sports wonderland.
Bahamas Air, the national airline of the Bahamas, flies to San Salvador Island via Nassau daily out of Ft. Lauderdale and Miami. Seasonally charter flights are also available on Spirit Air on Saturdays from Ft. Lauderdale. Riding Rock Reservations will gladly assist all our guests with airline reservations as well as making arrangements for any stop over stays in Nassau or Ft. Lauderdale. Located just two miles from Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport, Fort Lauderdale Beach & Downtown.
Another excellent option is to fly Southern Air from Nassau to San Salvador. The flight departs at 6:00 pm daily arriving in San Salvador at 7:30 pm. Please note that you will need to arrive in Nassau no later than 2:30 pm to allow for transit time. The return flight departs San Salvador to Nassau at 7:00 am arriving Nassau at 8:30 am. It is recommended you do not schedule an onward flight from Nassau until at least 12:30 pm.
